Man is Fourth Person Arrested in DART Mob Assault

Dallas police say they arrested a 20-year-old man Thursday night for his suspected role in a mob attack on a Dallas Area Rapid Transit train July 30.

Jail records indicate Cameron Hendrix was booked into the Dallas County jail just after 6:30 p.m. and charged with assault and a probation violation.

Hendrix's bond was set at $3,000.

Hendrix was the fourth person arrested in connection with the attack on a DART train that hospitalized a 44-year-old man. The man, who asked to be identified only as Kennan, told NBC 5 he was attacked after asking a group of youths to stop smoking marijuana on the train.

Kennan is recovering from his injuries at home.

DART police arrested 21-year-old Jakobi Hendrix and his brother, 23-year-old Remon Hendrix, Aug. 4. in connection with the attack.

Jakobi Hendrix later apologized for his role in the attack. He said he simply saw his younger brother involved in a fight and rushed to his defense.

"I didn't learn what actually happened until two days," he said. "If I knew that my brother was getting into it because of that situation, I would have pulled my brother off of this man and apologized."

DART officials said they then arrested a female Aug. 7 who appeared a video of the fight published on Facebook. Due to her age, her identity was not released.
