Man Rescued From 20-Foot Hole

Rescue crews pulled out an injured construction worker stuck at the bottom of a trench in Fort Worth on Wednesday afternoon.

The man was working 5 feet within a tunnel at the bottom of a 20-foot trench when he was injured by equipment, the Fort Worth Fire Department said.

Workers moved him from the tunnel, and rescue crews pulled the man out of the trench with a stokes basket and a rope-and-pulley system.

The man was working at a site south of Loop 820 and east of Interstate 35W.

He was transported to a local hospital. There was no immediate word on his condition.
