Man Sentenced to 50 Years in NorthPark Shooting

A Dallas jury sentenced Thursday a man found guilty of shooting a Waxahachie woman in the face at NorthPark Center to 50 years in prison.

Demond Stuard, 28, was found guilty Wednesday of aggravated robbery.

Mary Boyd was waiting in her car for her daughter when she was shot in a NorthPark Center parking lot during an attempted carjacking in May. She needed facial reconstruction surgery after the shooting.

Stuard is one of two men accused in the carjacking. He and Anton Wallace were charged in connection with the attack two months later.
