Man Sentenced for DWI Manslaughter in Family Death

A North Texas man convicted by a jury of intoxication manslaughter in the drunken-driving crash that killed a family of three has received a lengthy prison sentence.

A judge in Fort Worth sentenced Benjamon Todd Stewart on Tuesday to 22 years in prison for the July 2013 deaths in Arlington of 40-year-old Najib Intidam, his 27-year-old wife Hanane Intidam and 11-month-old daughter Nour.

A Tarrant County jury deliberated for several hours over two days in September before finding the 43-year-old motorist guilty of three intoxication manslaughter counts and one of failing to stop and render aid.

Stewart chose to have his sentence set by state District Judge Scott Wisch instead of the jury. He could have been sentenced to up to 70 years in prison.
