Man Sentenced to 7 Years in Deadly Austin Laundry Dispute

A man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for a slaying after some of his clothes turned up missing from a Central Texas laundromat.

A jury in Austin earlier Monday convicted 29-year-old Brian Ross of murder. An attorney for Ross, who faced up to life in prison, said his client was protecting himself during the November 2012 fight outside a laundromat.

Investigators said the body of 33-year-old Adam Gonzales was found in the parking lot.

Prosecutors said Gonzales had been drinking when Ross approached him about the missing clothes. Investigators said Gonzales began hitting a woman who was with Ross before the men started fighting.
