Man struck, killed at around 7 a.m. Sunday

One man is dead after a fatal accident at LSG SkyChefs catering services Sunday morning.

The initial investigation shows an employee of airline catering company was fatally struck by a large LSG SkyChefs catering truck at the airport just before 7 a.m. according to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport spokesman David Magaña.

Magaña said the incident happened at the loading dock area south of the company's building at 2120 West 33rd Street on the south side of DFW Airport.

The man's identity has not been released, but Magaña said he was described as in his fifties.

During the investigation, several American Airlines flights left DFW Airport without any catering services on board. Catering has resumed on AA flights.

LSG Sky Chefs released the following statement: "We can confirm that an associate of our company passed away today while working at our facility at D/FW International Airport following a motor vehicle accident.  The incident is being investigated by the D/FW Department of Public Safety. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have also been notified. Our company is cooperating fully with the investigations. Due to this incident and the investigation we were not able to cater some flights this morning.   We extend our deepest sympathies to the employee's family and will work with law enforcement to assist in the investigation."  - David S.
