Man Robbed in Uptown Home Invasion

Two bandits forced their way into man’s apartment, victim says

A man who answered a knock at his door in Uptown Dallas was robbed Thursday night when two bandits burst into his apartment.

"I just opened the door and they pushed their way in, really,” Cary Fisher. “And then the one just spun me around.”

He said they forced him onto his couch, where one of the men held what appeared to be a pistol to the back of his head.

"He said, 'Don't look, don't look at us,'” Fisher said.

The men ran off with two smart phones, a computer, and $72 he had in a billfold.

"I may have given them 10 seconds and then I went over there (and) locked the door,” he said.

His condo on busy Hall Street is just off the Katy Trail.

"I've lived here for 6 years,” he said. “Have never, ever had a problem like this to happen."

Dallas police said detectives are investigating but don’t know of any similar robberies that may be related.

"I was just thankful that nobody got hurt,” Fisher said.
