Neighborhood Crash Leaves Trail of Destruction

A man and his truck left a trail of trash and debris after crashing several times on a Dallas street.

Dallas police say around 2:45 a.m. Friday, a man was driving down Jacobie Street, when he hit two or three cars and then ran into a fence. He continued driving, hitting a tree just outside a house.

His destructive trip continued down the street, hitting trash cans and bags, which sent debris into the street.

As he continued, he made the curve at Rayville Street, sideswiping another car, then hitting a large brick mailbox. That crash disabled the man's truck.

Police say he took off on foot after the crash, but officers caught up with him shortly after.

The man is now facing hit and run and avoiding detention charges, police say.

The man's identity was not released by police. No one was injured.
