A 27-year-old man was arrested on a charged of intoxication assault after crashing into two police cars in the 2400 block of eastbound North East Loop 820 at about 3 a.m. Saturday.
The two police cars were parked one behind the other within a flare line they had created to block off the two outside lanes of the freeway. Officers said the driver of a Chevy sedan hit the rear of both police cars and then came to a stop.
The two officers involved were transported to the hospital by ambulance, but both were in good condition.
The driver of the sedan was not injured, but he was taken into custody for intoxication assault.
No names have been released.
