Man Gets 40-Year Term for Rage Death, Standoff

A 30-year-old man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder in a road-rage killing and attempted capital murder for shooting at deputies during a standoff 10 months later.

A Tuesday statement from the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office says Jesus Ray Ybarra was sentenced after entering his guilty pleas Monday in Fort Worth.

No one was hurt during the March 27 standoff Thursday near Kennedale.

He also admitted to fatally shooting motorist Jesse Garrison during a road-rage incident the previous May 10.
