The man was in his truck outside the house in the 300 block of Kiest Boulevard at 12:43 a.m. when he was approached by another man who parked behind him, according to police.

The second man then pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his possessions. Police said the victim complied and the man went back to his vehicle.

Police said the victim saw the man start to come back to his truck, so he quickly drove away. The robber began shooting at the victim, striking him once in the back.

The victim drove about three minutes away to a nearby McDonald's where he called for help, police said.

Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital. His condition is not yet known.
