A man is dead and a woman was injured in a crash during a police chase following a street race late Thursday night, authorities said.
Dallas County Sheriff's deputies said they tried to stop three cars racing on eastbound Texas 183 near Regal Row just after 11 p.m. They lost two of the cars but stayed with a white Camaro.
Officers pursued the Camaro to northbound Interstate 35E at speeds exceeding 100 mph.
While exited at Loop 12, the driver of the Camaro lost control going down the ramp and drifted into a large electric transmission pole, authorities said.
Officials said the male driver was found dead. A female passenger was transported to a hospital in serious condition.
