Man Arrested in Indecent Exposure Incidents

Police seeking information on whether suspect exposed himself in other North Texas cities

Plano police have arrested a man from The Colony who is suspected in multiple flashing incidents.

Jeremy Smith, 31, is charged with two counts of indecent exposure, though police believe he may be responsible for as many as five incidents between May and July.

Investigators said Smith lured women over to his car by asking them a question or asking for directions. When the women approached his window, he would expose himself.

Most incidents occurred in shopping plaza parking lots, with the most recent incident happening in a Target parking lot in Plano on June 29.

Smith is being held in the Collin County Jail.

Police are seeking tips and working with other law enforcement agencies to determine if he is behind incidents in different municipalities.

"We're not discounting possibility that he could have also committed crimes outside our city," Plano police spokesman Officer David Tilley said. "That's why we're basically going to reach out and try to get more information."

Plano police have set up a tip line. Anyone with any information is asked to call 972-941-2148.
