Man Arrested After Chase, Standoff: Fort Worth Police

Fort Worth police said they arrested a man after a chase and a standoff on Interstate 30 overnight.

Officers were dispatched to a possible domestic violence call at an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Western Center Boulevard at 11:35 p.m. Sunday. Officers were talking to the victim at the scene when a man involved in the call drove away.

Police said they followed the man from the apartment complex and stopped him in the 6500 block of Mark IV Parkway. The man was not cooperative and drove away when officers approached his pickup truck.

Officers pursued the man through Fort Worth, North Richland Hills and Arlington, ending in Grand Prairie. Police said they spiked man's truck multiple times during the pursuit.

Because police said they suspected the man was armed, Fort Worth Zero Tolerance Unit, a SWAT team and hostage negotiators were involved in removing the man from his vehicle.

Both directions of I-30 were closed near the Belt Line Road exit during the standoff.

Police said they charged the man with evading arrest. Other charges are pending.
