Man Accused of Cutting Fiancée With Sword

Police officers said they observed bumps and bruises as well as a cut on the woman's neck

A Dallas man got into an argument with his fiancée Saturday morning and cut her with a sword according to Dallas Police.

Darryl Edward Daniels' Facebook status changed from "engaged" to "it's complicated" a few hours before the incident.

Daniels' fiancée told police she got in an argument with him and told him she was leaving when he grabbed her by the back of the neck and slammed her head into a bedroom door and punched her in the head with a closed fist.

The woman told police she attempted to leave the apartment in 10,000 block of Whitehurst Drive but Daniels got a sword from his bedroom, held it to her neck and told her, "If you leave, I will use this on you."

Daniels then cut her neck with the sword according to the police report. The woman was able to get away and call 911.

Officers report observing bumps and bruises on the woman as well as small cuts on the left side of the her neck.

Daniels left the apartment after the woman called 911, but was arrested when he returned.
