Man Accused of Murder After Infant Killed

Roberson is at a Dallas County jail held on $1 million bond

An 18-year-old man is accused of capital murder after police say an infant left in his care was found dead and beaten.

Dallas police say Alexdener Roberson was left alone Friday with his live-in girlfriend's 1-year-old son, Trey Jenkins. During that time, Roberson allegedly told police Trey was cranky and became unresponsive when he tried to change the infant's diaper.

Authorities took Trey to a local children's hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy showed Trey died of blunt force injuries to the chest and abdomen. Police believe Trey likely didn't survive more than a few minutes after the injuries.

Roberson was arrested Wednesday and is confined to Dallas County jail on $1 million bond. Online jail records don't list an attorney for him.
