Man Accused of Killing 2 in Texas, Arrested in Louisiana Casino

46-year-old Reymundo Luis Valdez is awaiting extradition after he was arrested in a Lake Charles casino

A man accused of killing two people in Houston has been arrested in a Louisiana casino.

Louisiana State Police say Harris County homicide detectives got in touch with state police in Lake Charles on Wednesday, and troopers found 46-year-old Reymundo Luis Valdez in a casino the same day.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says Valdez is accused of shooting 54-year-old Ernesto Hull and 46-year-old Colette Depaz in their home on Sept. 6. A news release says their bodies were found through a welfare check about 9:30 p.m. that day.

Sheriff's Office spokesman Thomas Gilliland said in an email Thursday that investigators believe the motive was robbery of cash and illegal drugs.

Louisiana State Police say Valdez was in the Calcasieu Correctional Center awaiting extradition to Texas.
