Little League Team Raises Enough Money for State Tournament

The Sabine-Jarvis 10-U District Team got the chance to play at the state tournament thanks to donations from community members.

Last week, the little league team held a fundraiser in hopes of raising enough money to go to the Texas West State Tournament in Abilene.

The team raised about $5,200, which was enough to pay for everyone on the team's two-night hotel stay, gas and food.

The league's president says they are grateful to the community and called the generous donations a blessing.

Sabine-Jarvis won its game against Burnet 6-1 on Saturday night. It lost 7-5 against Midland, but will continue to semi-finals because teams have to lose two games to be eliminated in the tournament.

Next, Sabine-Jarvis will take on the Corpus Christi Oil Belt. If they win, they'll advance to finals.

To watch the tournament, you can search "Wylie Little League" on YouTube and look for "Sabine vs. Oil Belt."
