Large Fire Breaks Out at Dallas Grocery Store

No injuries reported in blaze

A grocery store in the Red Bird area of Dallas caught fire on Tuesday night.

The Sack and Save in the 2500 block of West Red Bird Lane was open when the initial calls about the four-alarm fire came in just before 9 p.m.

Fire crews put out the fire, but continued to deal with a lot of smoke at about 10 p.m. More than 100 firefighters responded to the store.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators said Wednesday the fire started in the produce aisle and triggered the store's sprinkler system.

Employees tried to put out the blaze, but eventually had to evacuate. Investigators are still trying to determine how the fire started.
