A North Texas organization is serving up "Random Snacks of Kindness" with their twist on the popular food truck trend in Dallas-Fort Worth.
"The food truck boom is so popular in Dallas, we wanted to have our own spin on it," Executives in Action's Kimberly Westphall said.
And so, the EIA "Kindness Truck" was born.
"It exists only to promote kindness in the community," Westphall told NBC 5 during the truck’s first surprise visit.
EIA is a nonprofit that pairs business leaders from the DFW area with other nonprofits to help them with free access to their expertise, and contacts in the community. They see the Kindness Truck as an extension of their mission.
Future Random Snacks — or Acts — of Kindness might include handing out free coffee to riders at a DART station, or distributing care packages at an area homeless shelter.
The truck stopped to deliver doughnuts and apples to the students at St. Philips School and Community Center in South Dallas last week.

“I think that’s a really cool idea,” said Benaye Rogers, of St. Philips School, as she watched 200 kids eagerly line up for a bonus breakfast item before chapel service. "I love that they’ve chosen us first."
The Kindness Truck is also slated to make a surprise visit to the Addison Police Department Tuesday for a not-yet-disclosed gift for the officers and support staff.
