Several schools in Kaufman County were locked down Wednesday while police searched for an armed person.
The schools were locked down shortly after 8 a.m. when someone called 911 and reported seeing an armed person in an apartment complex near a Kaufman Independent School District campus with several other schools nearby.
The schools were locked down only as a precaution while police searched for the person. None of the schools reported seeing the individual.
At 2 p.m., the lockdown was lifted.
Officials said no arrests have been made.
