Jeb Bush: Give 11 Million Immigrants Chance to Stay

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush says that 11 million immigrants in the country illegally should have an opportunity to stay.

The Republican White House prospect waded into the immigration debate on Wednesday for the second time in two days. Wednesday he faced the National Christian Hispanic Leadership Conference in Houston. He appeared in Puerto Rico the day before.

In tone and substance, Bush stands out among the many Republicans lining up for the GOP's next presidential primary.

Speaking in both English and Spanish, he said that a successful immigration overhaul is more than simply strengthening the border. He cited "11 million people that should come out from the shadows and receive earned legal status."

He says the nation's economy depends on restructuring the immigration system.
