Irving Woman Stabbed to Death: Police

Irving police have identified the woman found dead inside her home Wednesday during a welfare check.

Rosemary Milazzo, 60, died from multiple stab wounds, according to an autopsy report.

Her body was found inside the home in the 2400 block of West 11th Street.

Police said they got the welfare call around 4 p.m. from a co-worker of the victim, who expressed concern after the victim didn’t show up to work.

Police said when they arrived, there was no answer at the door, so they looked through a window and saw evidence of foul play.

Detectives are now following up on leads, but further information has not been released due to the ongoing investigation, police said.

"These are the critical hours," Irving police officer James hopefully said. "These are the times that detectives are going to gather their leads and that's going to really steer the investigation and hopefuly get a suspect into custody fairly quickly."

Neighbors said the woman lived in the home for nearly 30 years and raised three daughters, two of whom are twins who play soccer at a local high school.

"I just can't see why anybody would want to hurt her. She never bothered anybody," neighbor Nancy Watts said. "She was a good neighbor. She was a good parent."
