Gov. Terry Branstad says he did not nab a wild hog during a hunting trip in Texas this week.
Branstad said Wednesday that the trip was his first time hunting wild pigs. After waiting to take a shot, he said he missed. Branstad said his group had more success shooting wild ducks, killing seven birds.
Branstad was hunting near Dallas from Sunday through Tuesday. A spokesman said the trip was taken on personal time.
The governor is known as an avid hunter. Last year he shot a buck during a hunting trip in Iowa.
