In South Carolina, GOP Hopefuls Run Against Obama, Terrorism

Republican presidential hopefuls eventually will have to start running against each other.

But, for now, many are happy to run against President Barack Obama, Iran and Middle East extremists.

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz echoed each other's barbs on Saturday at the South Carolina Republican convention. Both accused Obama of "leading from behind." Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum called the president weak.

All three blasted Obama's nuclear negotiations with Iran and his dealings with Israel. They all pledged a more aggressive military response in the region as necessary.

Santorum called for bombing violent Islamic groups "back to the seventh century."

GOP activists cheered the rhetoric. The question going forward is whether any GOP candidate can use foreign policy to stand out in the crowded field.
