Fort Worth police have re-opened northbound Interstate 35W following a rollover crash that blocked the freeway for over three hours.

Emergency crews shut down the northbound Interstate 35W near Interstate 20 in Fort Worth following a fatal crash near Seminary Drive.

Fort Worth police said the white vehicle seen with its roof crushed on the freeway wrecked after trying to avoid a pedestrian that was on the roadway.

According to police, the driver of the car was not injured following the rollover wreck.

The pedestrian that was on the roadway was killed. NBCDFW.com is not posting certain graphic details of the collision.

Scott Conn with the Fort Worth Police Department said an investigation is ongoing into where the pedestrian came from.
