Hurst Police Arrest Man for Shooting Two

Hurst police said they've arrested 32-year-old Lenar Alexander Corales and accused him of shooting two people Sunday night.

At about 9 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the 700 block of Thousand Oaks Drive when residents reported hearing gunshots

"We did hear three loud bangs while we were watching TV, and then I asked, 'Are those gunshots?'" said neighbor Gloria Lydia Longoria. "So we came out and we saw the suspect running away."

When police arrived, they found a man and a woman, shot, on the grass in front of the home. Both people were taken to the hospital. Both were expected to survive, police said.

Neighbors saw a man run from the home toward the Hurst Police Department, only about a block away. Police arrested him a short distance from the station.

Police said Corales is an "ex-family member" of the female victim and they don't expect to arrest anyone else in connection with the shooting.

Corales will be charged with two counts of attempted capital murder. No bond has been set.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.
