Authorities say a year-old girl left at a Houston apartment without adult supervision has been found burned to death after playing with an oven.
Houston police were dispatched around midnight Monday to meet with firefighters at the apartment complex.
KPRC-TV in Houston reports the mother was at work and left her three children with her boyfriend, who investigators said left them unattended.
Police said the youngsters were playing with the oven when the girl was fatally burned. She was dead at the scene.
The child's grandmother told KPRC that the girl was a "sweet baby," and that her death was "unexplainable."
The child's mother and her boyfriend have been taken in for questioning.
An investigating is ongoing and officials have not yet said what type of oven the children were playing with.
