A Houston Community College trustee has won a court challenge to his election and seating on the board of trustees.
A Harris County jury has found that Dave Wilson lives in the district his seat represents on the board, rejecting claims that he lived outside his district.
Harris County had sued to remove Wilson, contending that he didn't live in the apartment he had listed as his residence in election documents. Wilson had said he had lived in the apartment since 2012.
Wilson's opponent in the election earlier this year also complaint that campaign mailings Wilson sent to voters in the predominantly black district implied Wilson, who is white, was black.
