Dallas police said a homeowner fired several shots at two people who were trying to steal the tires off his truck Wednesday morning, possibly hitting one.

Two people tried to steal the tires off a truck parked outside a home in the 4000 block of Old Glory Drive at about 3:30 a.m., according to police.

The truck's owner saw the thieves and fired several shots at them as they tried to escape in a GMC SUV. Police said the thieves then crashed the truck and ran away.

A few minutes later, a man arrived at a nearby hospital with gunshot wound. Police said they think he might be one of the thieves.
