Highland Park Book Festival Set to Mark Centennial

A book festival featuring about a dozen authors including former U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison is scheduled for next month as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Dallas enclave of Highland Park.

The Highland Park Centennial Literary Festival is set for May 11 at Highland Park United Methodist Church. The event is being presented by the Texas Book Festival, which is held annually in October at the Texas Capitol in Austin.

Hutchison, who served nearly 20 years in the Senate before deciding not to seek re-election in 2012, will talk about her book "Unflinching Courage: Pioneering Women Who Shaped Texas." Other authors include Lawrence Wright, who wrote "Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood, and the Prison of Belief."
