Halo Bandits Lead Police on a Chase From Hurst to Oak Cliff: Police

Authorities offered no explanation for the FBI's name for the suspected robbers

Four suspected bank robbers known as the Halo Bandits are in custody Thursday after leading police on a chase from Hurst to Dallas.

According to the Dallas FBI, agents were already conducting surveillance on the group of four, two women and two men, when they robbed a Texas Trust Credit Union on the 100 block of Harwood Road in Hurst Thursday morning.

One woman was arrested at the scene, but the other three made it to the getaway car and led multiple police agencies on a chase through Tarrant County and into Dallas County.

During the chase, the sedan's hood flew open and covered the front windshield obstructing much of the driver's view.

After leading police into Oak Cliff, the three bailed out of the car and led police on a short foot chase before surrendering outside a home on Barlow Avenue, not far from the intersection of Illinois Avenue and Hampton Road.

The identities of the foursome have not yet been released. An FBI spokeswoman said agents named the group the Halo Bandits for no specific reason.
