Masked gunmen shot and fatally wounded a guard during an armored car holdup outside a west Houston bank.
A Houston police spokesman said the guard died Thursday night of wounds suffered that afternoon outside Capital One Plaza, near Houston's Galleria. Spokesman Keith Smith said the guard's identity was being withheld until his family could be notified.
The thieves made good their getaway, but Smith declined to say they escaped with any loot.
No other injuries were reported.
