Grapevine Community Comes Together to Support Injured Officer

Grapevine police are receiving an overwhelming amount of support and concern from the community after a traffic officer was seriously injured last month.

Senior Officer RJ Hudson was struck by an SUV that swerved into his lane on Oct. 19.

He was transported to Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Grapevine with internal injuries, broken bones, and lacerations, according to police.

In a news release, the department said, "The Hudson family personally wishes to thank all Grapevine Police personnel, including officers, dispatchers, jailers, chaplains, volunteers, and alumni association members, as well as Grapevine Fire personnel, police officers from surrounding cities, and Grapevine city leaders, who continue to provide support for Sr. Ofc. Hudson and his family."

Doctors expect a full recovery within the next four to six weeks.
