Police say a Granbury woman is charged with killing a Missouri psychiatrist who was having an affair with her husband.
Shannon L. O'Roark Griffin, 52, is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Irina Puscariu of Gladstone, a Kansas City suburb.
During therapy Friday morning in Great Bend, Kan., Griffin learned her husband, retired Air Force Colonel Roscoe L. O. Griffin, was having an affair and had no intention of ending it, according to a probable cause statement. Court records show O'Roark Griffin then left the meeting and later the couple talked on the phone about divorce.
Gladstone police say in a probable cause statement that O'Roark Griffin went to Puscariu's house Friday shot her three times in the face, then drove away.
The statement says she called her husband and told him about the shooting and that she "felt like she did what she had to do to protect him and others from this evil woman."
The Kansas Highway Patrol began searching Interstate 35 between Kansas City and Granbury while pinging O'Roark Griffin's cell phone. Troopers arrested O'Roark Griffin on I-35 southbound Friday evening near Wichita.

When troopers pulled her over, O'Roark Griffin said she had two unloaded handguns in the car.
O'Roark Griffin is jailed in Sedgwick County awaiting extradition. Bond was set at $1 million. Court records do not indicate that she has an attorney.
