Glider Pilot Slightly Hurt in Central Texas Crash

A Houston man has been slightly hurt when his glider crashed in a Central Texas field after missing some power lines.

The Eagle newspaper reports the crash happened late Wednesday afternoon north of Brenham. The glider came to rest about 20 yards from a home.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the pilot maneuvered the Glasflugel H-301 to avoid power lines but then hit a tree.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the pilot of the one-seat glider sustained minor cuts and declined treatment. His name wasn't immediately released.

The FAA said the glider suffered substantial damage.

Brenham is about 65 miles northwest of Houston.
