Girl, 7, Killed in Dallas Hit-and-Run Crash

The girl was crossing West Northwest Highway Saturday night when she was hit

Dallas police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a 7-year-old girl Saturday night.

The girl was hit in the 2700-block of West Northwest Highway, north of Love Field and just east of Interstate 35E, at about 8 p.m.

The girl, Devora Lopez, and an adult relative were crossing the road when they were hit by two vehicles, one of which fled the scene, authorities said.

The vehicle that fled was reported to be a black Dodge Durango, made between 2004 and 2009, according to officials.  It would have damage to the driver's side headlight, investigators said.

Lopez was rushed to Dallas Children's Medical Center, but was pronounced dead, according to a release from Dallas police.

The adult relative was hurt and their medical condition is not yet known.
