A 4-year-old girl and her 6-year-old brother have drowned in a lake north of Austin.
Williamson County authorities were called late Sunday afternoon to Lake Georgetown where witnesses say the children had been playing in water 2 to 3 feet deep and about 15 feet off the shoreline when they went under.
Police say the girl was recovered about five minutes after disappearing. Her brother was found about 15 minutes later.
The two were taken by helicopter to a hospital but could not be revived.
Names of the victims have not been immediately released. Georgetown police are investigating.
