George P. Bush Honors Vet As Part of “Roof For Vets” Program

George P. Bush stopped by Carrollton Wednesday to help honor the latest winner of the “Roof for Vets” program.

The program provides veterans with brand new roofs at no charge.

A crew from Lon Smith Roofing started transforming Joseph Tienter’s roof Wednesday.

The Army veteran said the roof was in bad shape and leaked water every time it rained.

Bush visited with Tienter and his wife while the crew was working on the roof.

He thanked Tienter for his service and thanked Lon Smith Roofing.

“Roof for Vets, which is sponsored by the Lon Smith Roofing company, is one of the many bright lights here in the state of Texas that are stepping forward in helping our military vets,” Bush said.

The total cost of the project would have been around $9,000.

“It really feels good to be honored like this,” Tienter said.
