Gas Prices Jump During Spring Break

Texas prices jump 11 cents

Retail gasoline prices across Texas have jumped 11 cents during spring break travel week.

AAA Texas on Wednesday reported the average price per gallon at the pump has reached $3.70 per gallon.

The association says the nationwide retail price for gasoline rose a nickel, standing at $3.81 a gallon.

The most expensive gasoline statewide was in Dallas and Fort Worth, at an average $3.78 per gallon. Amarillo has the least expensive gasoline this week, costing $3.58 per gallon.

Analysts say higher crude costs, supply concerns and signs of economic recovery have kept pressure on gasoline futures prices.
