Cut Gas Line Repaired in Downtown Dallas

A construction crew cut a gas line in Downtown Dallas Friday.

Officials with Atmos Energy said the gas line was a small, 1.25-inch diameter line, near the intersection of Ross Avenue and North St. Paul Street.

The line was cut by third-party construction crew doing work in the area, Atmos said.

Gas service to the area was cut off at about 10:40 a.m. so the line can be repaired.  With the gas off, about 100 people from nearby businesses who had been evacuated as a precaution are now being allowed to return to work.

Officials said the leak was repaired around noon.

No injuries have been reported.
