Gas Giveaway Is Not A Blessing To All

Dallas County Church gives away gas for Easter

It's back to normal at one Cedar Hill gas station after a local church created a frenzy with a free gas giveaway.  It happened Saturday morning at the Murphy's station, at the Wal-Mart in Cedar Hill.

The New Beginnings Community Fellowship Church in Cedar Hill pumped up to 20 bucks of free gas to the first 200 vehicles to line up.

The good gesture overwhelmed the employees and frustrated some customers as the entrance to the gas station was blocked because of so many cars. But for those who were the first to get it, they say it was a blessing just in time for Easter.

"I've been here since 6:15," said Demarco King, who waited 3-hours and 15 minutes for the start of the giveaway. "The gas prices are ridiculous.. free gas is free gas!"

Church members donated their own money, raising 3000 dollars for the giveaway. They hope to help even more people next year.
