A Frisco hospice agency at the center of an FBI investigation involving allegations its owner regularly ordered nurses to overdose patients to make more money posted a response on its webpage Thursday saying it is dedicated to providing compassionate care and would never “willingly harm any patient.”
The company, Novus Health Services, and its owner, Brad Harris, were named in a search warrant affidavit in February that was obtained earlier this week by NBC 5.
Harris, 34, an accountant, sent messages to nurses like, “You need to make this patient go bye-bye,” the FBI said.
Nobody has been charged in the case.
Harris has not responded to requests for comment.
The statement on the company’s website said, “We want to assure you that we consistently provide our patients with the life-sustaining care and respect that everyone deserves.”
Novus follows plans of care overseen by a medical director, the statement said.

“We have not and would not – ever – willfully harm any patient,” it said.
The statement also said the NBC 5 report appears to be based on “unsubstantiated information taken from an affidavit sealed by a federal court, which was apparently and unlawfully leaked to the news organization.”
In fact, the search warrant was obtained when it was publicly available on the federal court’s website. It was sealed after NBC 5 contacted the FBI for comment.
