Fort Worth Police continue to search for a suspected child predator on the city's east side.

Residents in the Carver Heights and Rosedale Park neighborhoods, near Rosedale and East Loop 820, were well aware of the warning from police on Tuesday.

"It's very sad, it's very sickening to think about," said Amos Watkins.

Watkins and several others had just finished working out at the Martin Luther King Community Center, where the suspected child predator has been seen according to police.

Martin Luther King park is adjacent to the center and is filled with jungle gyms for local kids.

"Our kids can't come out and have freedom to play without some predator looking on them," Watkins said.

The incidents, in which the child predator is suspected, not only occurred near two parks, but within blocks of nearly a half dozen schools.

"I'm very concerned because you have a lot of kids who walk home alone and they're small children," said Betty Smith.

Smith picked up her granddaughter from Maude Walton Elementary on Thursday, well aware of the alert and having already instructed her grandchildren how to act if ever approached. She views the warning though as another example of how parents can’t be too careful these days.

"Don't let your kids go out alone," Smith said. "You do have these predators; you don't know who's next door to you or who's around the corner."

Police believe there may be more victims and are asking them to come forward.
