Fort Worth Police Investigating Toddler's Drowning

21-month-old drowned in apartment complex pool

A 21-month-old boy is dead, the victim of a late night drowning in a Fort Worth apartment complex pool.

Fort Worth police Capt. Kevin Rodricks told NBC 5 that the boy, Jordan Evans, was in the pool area with his father at The Club at Fossil Creek Apartments, along the 3400 block of Western Center Boulevard, late Tuesday night.

For some reason, the father did not notice that his son had walked away and had fallen into the pool until he found the boy floating in the 3-foot-deep shallow end of the pool, Rodricks said.

Neighbors and paramedics performed CPR on the boy, but he was pronounced dead at Cook’s Children’s Hospital, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Detectives with the Crimes Against Children office of the Fort Worth Police Department are investigating the case, Rodricks told NBC 5.

The father’s name has not yet been released.
