Fort Worth Police Buy Back Guns

Dozens of guns are off the streets after the Fort Worth Police Department conducted a gun buy back Saturday afternoon.

Officers accepted guns between noon and 4 p.m. in the parking lot behind All Saints Catholic Church.

The department offered $50 Vista cards in exchange for guns with no questions asked. The gift cards were purchased with money from seized assets.

This is the fourth gun buyback program in 2017. The department said it collected 148 guns prior to Saturday's event.

The guns are destroyed after they're turned in.

Fort Worth police brought the gun buy back program back in 2017, the last time the department offered the program was in 2009.
