Fort Worth Firefighters Hurt During Storm

Two Fort Worth firefighters are recovering at a hospital after getting hurt while fighting a house fire late Monday afternoon.

Deglen Isbell, a 19-year veteran, and Gino Agnello, a firefighter for three years, were working in the attic of a two-story house on the 12800 block of Campolina Way when they both went through the ceiling, falling about 20 feet to the first floor.

Isbell landed on the tank of air strapped to his back and injured his back. Agnello landed on his side and broke his arm.

Fire crews were about to begin extinguishing the flames when the firefighters fell.

No other firefighters were injured.

Fire investigators determined the house caught fire when it was struck by lightning during Monday's storm.

The two firefighters are expected to recover.
