Fort Hood Fires Contained, Started During Training

Two accidental fires on a remote training range at Fort Hood have been contained.

A statement Thursday from the Central Texas post says fire crews continue to monitor hot spots amid the dry conditions.

Nobody has been hurt.

Authorities say both fires were sparked Tuesday afternoon during training exercises as soldiers set off incendiary rounds.

One fire blackened about 200 acres. Fort Hood officials did not immediately provide acreage on the other blaze.
