A former Arlington Heights High School teacher has been charged with indecency and fondling of a female student.
Chad Hawkins, 34, turned himself into authorities on Tuesday and is in jail under a $15,000 bond.
According to a Tarrant County affidavit, a Westworth Village police officer was patrolling for vehicle break-ins in the parking lot of a L.A. Fitness, when he saw Hawkins and a female in a vehicle with "steamed up" windows on January 16, 2013.
The female identified herself as a student in Hawkins' history class to police and said that Hawkins was giving her a ride home.
The student said Hawkins touched and kissed her breasts and that she touched his penis.
A warrant for Hawkins' arrest was issued on January 18, 2013.
Hawkins and the student communicated through Facebook, where Hawkins used an alias "Thomas Durdan," according to the affidavit. The documents say approximately 90 pages of Facebook comments were found by investigators between Hawkins and the female student, even during school hours.

Hawkins resigned from Fort Worth ISD after the Jan. 16 incident, according to Fort Worth ISD spokesperson Clint Bond.
