Former Dallas Officers, Club Owner Plead Guilty in Drug Case

Two former Dallas police officers have been indicted, accused of helping a nightclub owner sell drugs and launder money.

Senior corporals Edward Villarreal and Craig Woods were indicted alongside nightclub owner Alfredo Navarro Hinojosa and eight others.

The indictment says the officers falsified police reports, tipped Hinojosa off that his employees were under FBI surveillance and lied about all this to authorities.

The indictment also alleges they knew about cocaine sales and money laundering happening inside the clubs.

Both officers previously left the police department.

The former officers pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI last week and face up to five years in prison.

Hinojosa has pleaded guilty to multiple related charges and could face up to 20 years in prison.
